Choose your project
Every project starts the same way: an on-site walkthrough, a written scope, and honest guidance about what will make the biggest difference.

Interior transformation
Walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and repairs planned as one cohesive room — not just a coat of paint.

Cabinets & furniture
Sprayed, durable finishes for kitchens, built-ins, and pieces you want to keep for years.

Feature walls & custom details
Board and batten, shiplap, trim details, wainscot, and accent color placed with intent.

Exterior painting
Coastal-smart preparation and products chosen for salt air, sun exposure, and humidity.

Partner & property refreshes
Listing prep, rental turnovers, and after-hours refreshes for restaurants and local businesses.
Coastal color inspiration
From historic downtown porches to brand-new coastal builds.
Not sure what your home could look like? Start here. These are the palettes and details we bring to Sussex County homes every week.

Downtown Milton
Historic storefronts and porches, color-matched to the character of the street.

Historic Lewes
Dove greys, deep shutters, and a high-gloss door that reads as intentional, not trendy.

New coastal builds
Crisp white siding, black windows, cedar warmth — a builder-grade home made custom.
What a finished room feels like
Light, color, and finish working together.
The right palette changes how a room reads all day long. We help you see it before the first drop cloth comes out.

Intrepid is owned and run by Jessica and Kristian Barnes out of Milton. You meet the owners at the walkthrough, and you hear from the owners while the work is underway.
Color and design guidance is part of the job, not an upsell — a color and design consultation is included with accepted qualifying proposals, so you are not left staring at fifteen sample cards on your own.
The part nobody photographs is the part that lasts: protection of floors and furniture, repairs, sanding, caulking, and priming, with Sherwin-Williams systems chosen for the surface and for coastal conditions. Every project ends with a walkthrough together before we call it finished.

Neighborhoods we know by name
Every street in Milton and Lewes paints a little differently. Here’s what we plan for before we ever price a project.
15 neighborhoods shown
Milton, DE neighborhoods we paint
Intrepid is based in Milton, so these are the streets we're on every week — historic homes off Union and Federal, Broadkill cottages, and the newer builds along Route 16.
Historic district
Original woodwork, layered old paint, and pre-1978 surfaces that need lead-safe prep before a finish coat.
Broadkill Beach
Salt air and wind-driven rain — coastal-rated exterior systems, full caulk and seal work, and deck refinishing.
Cave Neck
Larger lots and older farmhouses where siding, porch ceilings, and outbuildings usually get quoted together.
Shipbuilders Village
Newer construction with builder-grade paint — drywall correction, proper priming, and a durable repaint.
Heritage Creek
Ten-to-twenty-year-old builds where south-facing trim and shutters fade first — repaint packages usually pair trim, doors, and shutters.
Cannery Village
Village-style homes with tight setbacks and lots of trim detail — careful cut-in work and HOA-friendly color approvals.
Granary at Draper Farm
New builds where owners upgrade past the flat builder finish: feature walls, board and batten, and painted cabinetry.
Wagamons West Shores
Pond-facing elevations that hold moisture — mildew-resistant exterior systems and full caulk and seal work.
Downtown Milton / Union Street
Walkable historic blocks with porch ceilings, railings, and original doors that need patient hand-brushed finishes.
Milton Crossing
Townhomes and single-family repaints scheduled in tight windows so crews are in and out without disrupting the street.
Lewes, DE neighborhoods we paint
From Second Street historics to canal-front and bayfront builds, Lewes homes take direct sun and salt exposure — we spec finishes for it.
Historic Lewes
Patient prep on original trim and shutters, with colors chosen to sit right alongside the block.
Pilottown
Water-facing elevations where flashing lines, caulking, and sun-facing walls get the most attention.
Henlopen Acres
Higher-end interiors and cabinetry — sprayed urethane finishes and coordinated whole-home color plans.
Nassau
Whole-home repaints and kitchen refreshes, scheduled around Route 1 traffic so crews start on time.
Wolfe Pointe
Newer coastal builds needing feature walls, trim carpentry, and a step up from the original builder finish.

03
Transform
Products are matched to the surface and environment, with organized scheduling and daily cleanup.
